The Fizz.. is the new name for Bucks Fizz,( legal reasons) the poor mans ABBA, and I seriously do not mean to demean them, as in the absence of ABBA in the early 80s they were a good substitute. They are back with a new album due for release later this year and a new single, set for release in September, I think it's called Dancing in the Rain, I've heard it only the once so far, and it's very ' bucks fizz', produced I believe by Stock, of Stock Aitken and Waterman who could do no wrong in the 80s. It's not bad, but alas won't chart here in the UK because of the new rules.
Along with Steps, is ' pop' trying to make a comeback, God knows we need something a bit more fun, as a friend of mine says, " the charts are full of beige music "

I'm a Bananarama man all the way.. lol
I like a few songs of Bucks Fizz- New Beginning being one of them and When We Were Young. But I've never been what you call a hardcore fan. I've actually seen them perform fairly recently and it was fun. But yeah, they're yet another poor man's ABBA', Steps being the worst offenders.
I have listened to Dancing In The Rain by The Fizz and it was quite forgetable. I'll give it a few more listens before I decide.

I don't have all the correct details, however it's to do with demographics and streaming..
demographically Bucks/the Fizz have a 'older' fan base, very much like Steps, but politely , 'older again' who don't stream, and rarely buy, and to chart these days in the UK, you need to stream millions . Even ABBA would struggle , Agnetha's last batch of singles failed to chart in the official top 75 in the UK, even with all the hype and radio 2 airplay, DYPA, even made number one on radio 2 airplay chart, but because of no sales and little streaming didn't even make the top 100/200.
Bucks/Fizz , have a very 'them' sound, but a mediocre track, so airplay will be limited, the album has a better chance.
by the way, again even with all the promotion, SOAH , by. Steps only got to 173 and that's far more superior.
perhaps someone can explain better...
