Which do you like better, Arrival or Intermezzo No. 1? I like both, but I like Arrival better.

A couple of reasons for my preference for Arrival. There are more But I would prefer to hear what others think There's an early refrain in Intermezzo that immediately brings to mind 'oompah oompah stick it up your jumpah'. I'm afraid that once that gets ingrained into my head it is fighting a losing battle against Arrival straight away. Plus the girls are singing on Arrival; I think Intermezzo must be the only ABBA track with neither of them on it (Agnetha is completely missing from the version of LAAPTMR eventually chosen for release).

Arrival is a track that I often expect to skip but don't. Once I don't, I get lost in it. It's as if I'm in that helicopter on the back of the album cover (although that would be more like "departure" wouldn't it?). It's a piece of music that just takes me somewhere. The ladies' voices, like sirens, just carry me off.

Arrival has a nice melody, but Intermezzo no.1 has more interesting things going on, and is better recorded and arranged (the loud and shrill synths on Arrival are almost unbearable).

I prefer "Arrival" over "Intermezzo" myself, especially when the girls join in with those haunting vocals

I thought some people would feel that Arrival is repetitive. I'm a bit surprised that Arrival is ahead in the poll.

Arrival is a beautiful piece of music - but Intermezzo No. 1 is so full of energy and is kind of exciting. I may be a little biased due to it being performed Live in 1977 (and 1979 of course) but it is such a great reflection of Benny's personality in my opinion

Two great, underrated tunes. But Intermezzo gets the nod from me - it is JOYOUS!!

Got to go for 'Arrival'. I love how Benny tapped into Scandinavian folk music for this. A lovely connection between the band and their roots.

Definitely Arrival! It sounds like Swedish new age music in the development. The girls' vocals are definitely top notch... I'm not in favor of Intermezzo No. 1 as the drums ruined a bit of the song while the orchestration was tight, but it's a nice song for running, though. Arrival feels a lot more like an opening song to a live concert before ABBA and their touring ensemble roll out with a jamming song like 'Tiger'

It's Intermezzo for me. It has so much energy. I have never really cared for Arrival too much, though I never skip it. It is a fine closing of the Arrival album but nothing more than that. I remember when I listened to the album for the very first time and it finally got to the last track, I thought, well, this is a nice tune and I waited and waited impatiently for the moment, when the girls would start singing... and then it suddenly ended (I had no clue it was an instumental then). Maybe I have never quite got over this initial disappointment :-)
