I imagine most ABBA fans' tastes in music have changed and diversified quite a bit over the years, and I wonder in what way. Is it mostly pop/rock for you? Or are you interested in other genres of music as well?
For me, it wasn't until about my mid-twenties that I really got interested in other styles of music; but before that pop/rock was almost entirely what I listened to. One transformative experience for me was when I was ill in bed with flu, idly switching from one radio station to another; and then I came to BBC Radio 3. I heard the sound of the classical guitar: I think it was Julian Bream - wonderful player - playing a piece by Bach. I was amazed and mesmerised. This was just one person playing? It sounded like two players to my naive ears! And the sound! I love the sound of the classical guitar to this day. I knew I had to give it a go, and I did - and my appreciation of other genres of music stemmed in large part from that experience. But I feel sure it would have happened anyway, even without Mr. Bream and his guitar!
Nowadays, I probably listen to instrumental music as much as - if not more than - vocally-dominated music.
Here's one of my favourites, featuring the great Brazilian guitarist, Carlos Barbosa-Lima. Incredible technique - and take a look at the length of the 'little' finger of his left hand.

I was a pure pop devotee from the beginning. I credit the new directions taken by ABBA the various members after 1981/82 for helping to expand and inform my tastes. Frida's harder-edged solo albums caught my imagination and I started taking in other acts with similar sounds - everyone from Pat Benatar to Peter Gabriel, and stuff like the comeback singles that Sandie Shaw did around that time. Chess was a nice threshold for less linear stuff, especially choral stuff. Although I can't see a direct line from it now, I somehow credit the Chess album with taking me to some sacred music. My favourite of that genre is Rachmaninov: Vespers, Op. 37 - Rejoice, O Virgin. I was thrilled to get to sing it with a choir about ten years ago. Spine-tingling stuff (to be clear, this is NOT the choir I sang with!!):
These days, I'm back to pop fandom. Recording my own pop material now has kept me focused. Despite my generation's loud despair on the state of the pop art, I think there is some amazing pop being made. I still love 80s "maximalist" production and think that the first half of the 1980s is where my pop heart still lies.

Funny that you should mention the 80s, Tony, because for the reason I explained in my OP, that's when I largely lost interest in pop! But later I got back to it, and I really appreciate now some of the tracks from that time. And Erasure's 'A Little Respect' is one of my top favourites ever. That beautiful suspension on the words "I hear you calling" - love it every time I hear it.

Apart from ABBA I like a lot of punk/new wave. The Clash, The Stranglers, Blondie, Pretenders, The Jam and ska too like The Specials or The Selector. I got into that sort of stuff while ABBA were between Number One Singles 1978-80. I also liked a lot of disco at the time especially Chic and Sister Sledge.
I love Fleetwood Mac - the classic line up circa 1975-87.
There's quite a bit from mid 69s I like too. Dusty Springfield, The Kinks, The Beatles and some Britpop era stuff.
My favourite era is from around 1977 to 1983 ish.

I have a large collection of music, ranging from pop and rock through musicals to punk, new wave and even heavy-metal. But pop and rock is where my heart truly lie. Like HOMETIME I discovered lot of music thanks to ABBA members' solo careers - they opened me up to other styles of music - Frida's early recordings to more jazzy style, Agnetha's early recordings to schlagers (I remember I just couldn't stand them in the beginning), Hootenanny Singers and BAO to folk, Björn and Benny's musicals to... well, musicals :-) and Benny's solo stuff to everything in between.

Not a lot...only joking... apart from all the similar genre, mostly anything “pop” related. I’m mostly “ stuck” from early 70s to late 80s, the 90s went a little off beat to me and up to now not a lot takes my fancy, that all said all generations bring something and even the odd ED Sheeran and Adele track will do it occasionally. Favourites at any given time... Texas. Erasure, Bucks Fizz/Fizz, Tina Turner, etc , yes even Steps...dare I say Eurovision..lol , but even those just mentioned and there are many more, they tend to fall into the same category, easy listening. I’m open to other types, but........
We are who we are.....

I almost expected to find "I Have a Dream" on this Guardian list of "70 Greatest No. 2 Singles".
But anyway, there are many great songs I like on this list, and quite a few I'm extremely surprised didn't reach No. 1 in the UK.
The nice thing, I guess, is realising that there are so many classics that never reached the top, and yet are enduring and still extremely popular today. Classics all of them!
And if "I Have a Dream" can be counted among these other "losers", then the least we can say is it's in really great company!

I wonder if there are any members of this forum who could identify every single artist in this picture. They're mostly from the early 1980s:
