To Joseph, Alan, Richard, Colin and Foreverfan,
Thank you very much for thinking about me. I really had a tough end to last year with depression. The road to recovery has been difficult and challenging but I am getting there. On September 2 an announcement helped me through " my dark times ". I think you can all guess what that announcement was all about. I still can't believe it. Once again, my heartfelt thanks.

Great to hear from you again, Eddie! (Using your new member name.) Depression must be a terrible thing to have to deal with, and I'm so glad you've come through a bad patch and rejoined the forum. Couldn't agree more about how wonderfully life-enhancing music can be for our mental wellbeing - and especially ABBA now, of course!

Thanks Richard, Indeed it is and I have suffered from recurring bouts of depression stemmimg from my childhood as well as anxiety which I am learning to control. I am over the worse I am very glad to say . Totally agree music is the right antidote for " the blues of the mind ". I must admit I was " in seventh heaven " after hearing of ABBA's long awaited comeback. The new songs are brilliant and testimony that the band never had completely gone away. ABBA never officially split up. I am looking forward to the new album " Voyage ". Both Agnetha and Frida are in very fine voice and the ABBA chemistry remains. Benny and Bjorn deserve an accolade for two of the greatest songwriters of all time. Welcome back ABBA from all of us fans.

Hi Tony,
You are very welcome. " I Still Have Faith In You " and " Don't Shut Me Down " are simply outstanding. It seems as if ABBA never went away. Can't wait to hear " Voyage ".I will probably get into trouble as I am straying from the subject of this thread but I don't care as I am very excited.

Good to see you back, Edmund! Aside from ABBA's comeback, your disappearance from the forum has been the most discussed matter recently

I should have checked: do you prefer to be called Edmund or Eddie?

Hi Joseph, I read your posts recently and am very glad you are back. I would like to thank you very much for your kind wishes. As you already know depression and aniexty have blighted my life and I went through an extremely " dark " phase last year. I am over the worst of it and am taking Setraline to relieve the anxiety somewhat. However, medication only partly reduces anxiety and depression. You have to work at it yourself and it is challenging and difficult at times especially during these unprecedented times. However I was overjoyed to hear of ABBA's comeback. Hopefully we can raise many important and valid issues and views about our beloved band.

Thank you, Edmund. Good to see you here, too. The old gang back together, huh? Seriously, the more the merrier. Its always good to share our thoughts with other fans. We're all very different but that's great. We still share our love for ABBA's music and that will always remain our common bond.
Be kind to yourself. You have a lot of friends here.

You're very welcome, Joseph. The old gang are back together just like ABBA ( our favourite band ). We will have so much to talk and discuss over the coming weeks. As I said to Tony I still have to pinch myself occasionally with the news that our beloved band are back. Take care, Joseph.

As I said to Tony I still have to pinch myself occasionally with the news that our beloved band are back. Strangely enough I’m the opposite. I seem to have accepted ABBA’s reunion almost as though it was always going to happen! Obviously it helped that we knew about two songs for over three years, but now that there is a full album, I’m finding myself dividing the intervening decades by a journey towards this. So the 1980s (from 1983 onwards) were the ABBA dark ages. No real change there as they always were, but this was the time that was furthest from a new album. By the 1990s we’re a quarter of the way there (though some light relief in that three previously unreleased songs were released, along with the ABBA revival). Even by the millennium we were still only half way there. This was marked by the ABBA studio album remasters and re-designs. We didn’t know it, but the centred titles introduced then would be carried forward and eventually used for Voyage. The three-quarters time was marked with the release of “From A Twinkling Star…” but still some way to go. Somehow all events in the last 40 years, both in the world and personally, are now measured by how far away they were from this new album. Absolutely bizarre!

Yes, ABBA never announced they had officially split back in 1983. They took a break which turned out be a lengthy ( I guess you can call it a hiatus ). An interesting insight Alan, it is fascinating how individually we perceive things from a different point of view.
