According to The International ABBA Fan Club Magazine, " Bumblebee " will be a completely new song. I am very intrigued and curious to discover what the other songs will be like with the exception of JAN. Both ISHFIY and DSMD are simply outstanding. The new album will not disappoint.

They have a song called "Keep an eye on Dan" is the song about Lockdown Dan,"Our state premier Daniel Andrews" who has wrecked Victoria.
Sorry for bringing politics into it I just thought the name of the song was a coincidence with what's happening here.

So far 'I Still Have Faith In You' is hands down the best we've heard. A full on emotional rock ballad with so many vocal overdubs from all four ABBA members. Of course, part of it was already released in 2015 on Benny and Ludvigs 'Cikeln' project. 'Don't Shut Me Down' is a decent ABBA tune, clever lyrics from Bjorn although Agnetha still sounds like she's making a demo for A. Its only when the girls joint vocals kick in, mainly in the final chorus, it almost stands up as an ABBA track. It ends up coming off as a bit of a Dancing Queen / One Of Us hybrid. The third single, Just A Notion with its average at best A&F 1978 vocals spliced over a new backing track that sounds like it was thrown away from a Mamma Mia movie.....this album needs to be so much better than what weve seen so far and without the women giving their weight to the publicity campaign it all seems a bit of a downhill stumble. Bonfire Night release and I remember the old press statement on their first night at Wembley in 1979...."Oh ABBA, What A Damp Suqib". Here's hoping better is to come.

It must lead back somewhere and, for it to have much weight, would probably have to originate with someone who has actually heard the track. I only ask because this is the first time I've heard the rumour. Not suggesting that I have my finger on any kind of pulse, but I'd like some kind of informed chat about it. This excerpt from an interview with Bjorn in Variety suggests that everything other than JAN is new. “Just a Notion,” the third song you’ve released from the forthcoming album, dates from 1978. How many songs on the new album are actually new?
All of them except “Just a Notion” are completely new, both lyrically and musically. We had that song, and I don’t know why we didn’t release it — neither Benny nor I can actually remember why we skipped it, because it’s not bad and those vocals are really good. So Benny did a new backing track, because [the previous one] sounded old, but the vocals are from 1978. That’s the only one, though.

I like Don't Shut Me Down. It does however seem like two songs welded together. I would say The Day Before You Came and Dancing Queen. The Day Before You Came being a bit "sing speak". The intro/setting the scene is too long before the very catchy chorus sets in. People say it is too short. It is 4 minutes long. What I think they mean is there's not enough of the catchy uptempo parts.

All of them except “Just a Notion” are completely new, both lyrically and musically. If so, I think JAN is a good 3rd single for two reasons. First, it is a kind of additional reminder of classic ABBA (and being 3rd is just the place), and second, if it hadn't been released as a single, the song might have stood out of the album and looked odd (but now we are accustomed/prepared).

Well, people aren't Streaming it. It has clearly divided opinion. ABBA from the 70s, yes. A rejected song revamped for a new album.

We seem to have focused on some tracks more than others...the three singles, Bumblebee, Ode to freedom , Little Things and Dan. The other 3 less so and probably least No doubt about it. I am going for uptempo on that one with an abrupt ending , ending with vocals singing No doubt it. Would fit in with the song subject ..being affirmative, leaving no room for debate. Just a notion ...

We seem to have focused on some tracks more than others... Pretty natural as we've only heard 3. I'm hoping for more of the quality of 'I Still Have Faith In You', modern and realistic ABBA compared to ABBA pretenting to be who they were in the 70's which clearly doesnt work.

As for Bjorns comment Benny recently stated they had a lot of bits and pieces that had never found a home so they used them. Thats clear with 'I Still Have Faith In You' which originates from his 'Cirkeln' soundtrack of 2015 where its titles 'kyssen'. cheers Tony

Bjorn's "a lot of bits and pieces that had never found a home so they used them" is kinda par for the course. It's pretty much how ABBA always operated, really. Having heard Kyssen, I'm glad that the melody found its place in ISHFIY. It's too beautiful to be hidden away.

Just adding the latest info on the songs (from Pop Justice) to this thread:
1. "I Still Have Faith in You" 5:09 2. "When You Danced with Me" 2:50 3. "Little Things" 3:08 4. "Don't Shut Me Down" 3:56 5. "Just a Notion" 3:31 6. "I Can Be That Woman" 4:01 7. "Keep an Eye on Dan" 4:05 8. "Bumble Bee" 3:57 9. "No Doubt About It" 2:56 10. "Ode to Freedom" 3:32
So, of the ten songs we've all heard the three singles. Of the remaining seven songs, we have (rumoured) info on four:
- Little Things is the Christmas song, it's beautiful [IMG] has a cute little outro song by children. - Keep An Eye On Dan is a highlight, Bjorn and Benny have some backing vocals towards the end. "Keep an eye on Dan / promise me you can / he gets out of hand, if you let him / so keep an eye on Dan" - No Doubt About It as well, upbeat, super 80's - sounding totally like something from a coming of age/teen movie from around then and I love it - Ode To Freedom feels like a beautiful farewell [IMG] "overall a great mix of ballads, midtempos and upbeat songs on this album"
The above is rumoured info from someone at Pop Justice but I think it's fair to say all the Voyage-related rumours there so far have been true.
So this leaves three songs about which we so far know nothing: - When you danced with me - I can be that woman - Bumble bee (although this could be related to the previous undeleted demo).
