This is Where Is The Font From? A game where you have to identify where the fonts have been used on an ABBA cover. These fonts are mainly from ABBA singles. Though there are a few fonts from albums and Frida/Agnetha releases. There may be a few instances where the font was on the back cover instead of the front. The numbers in the list below indicates each time the font has appeared on an ABBA cover. I will be using points for everytime a font has been identified. Here's an example. The font Normande Italic was used on the covers of Nina Pretty Ballerina and Does Your Mother Know and you could potentially get 2 points.

Well just to be biased I'll say the Super Trouper one. Is the Balloon in the cover of the Super Trouper/The Piper single?

This is a tough one. I can't decipher any. Can we have a clue ? I have looked at loads of ABBA singles but can't guess any.

You don’t have to take turns. You can answer as many as you can. The only clue that I can really give is that the first 2 fonts were only used on an album/compilation. I would use Discogs and 45cat to look if I were you.

Also, take the group title/logo font, the fonts used on the song titles or any additional text into account.

No. 1 is definitely the original Greatest Hits - UK, US and a few other countries.
No. 6, I think is the Ring Ring album but I wouldn’t have a clue what else it appeared on, except for perhaps the Love Isn’t Easy single.
Out of interest, are any UK/Ireland-only fonts included here? I’m thinking: Waterloo album - ABBA name, individual members’ names and album name (all front cover) Angeleyes/Voulez-Vous I Have A Dream Lay All Your Love on Me One of Us Head Over Heels Thank You For The Music (single and album)
If not, what were the fonts used for these?

Greatest Hits is correct You’ll have to give a more detailed answer for No. 6. The Ring Ring album uses the Gill Sans font. The group name is in bold and the album title is Ultra Bold. The UK Waterloo album name font is Dynamo. It’s very close to Kabel Black and Blippo. The ABBA name uses the Premier shaded font and the member names is in Avant Garde. None of the UK fonts are on this game list. I Have A Dream, The Winner Takes It All, Lay All Your Love On Me and One Of Us uses Helvetica Neue. Angeleyes and Thank You For The Music probably uses the same font but a different weight. Angeleyes looks a bit thicker and Thank You For The Music looks thinner. And as for Head Over Heels, I’m not sure which font they used. It’s probably a font that’s right under our noses.

Yay, another one correct! Is Knowing Me, Knowing You/Happy Hawaii a Playbill? Yes. The French pressing of Knowing Me Knowing You uses the Playbill font. There are 4 more instances of Playbill being used. supertrouper: 3 points Alan: 1 point

Number 3 is Chiquitita, particularly Lovelight. I’m assuming Chiquitita is just a bold version on it.
Number 8 might be When All Is Said And Done (Aus). The “e” looks right but I’m not certain.
I’d say it’s near-on impossible to get them all right, if some are fonts used by specific countries (and even then not necessarily the main ones, if the UK isn’t included).

If it’s included in The Rubber Ball Man’s original post in this topic, then I would say it’s Optima. He would need to confirm though.
