Puzzles me why they did not release either after TACOM in USA. Think either would have gone down well.

I am one American who likes both Eagle and Move On better than TNOTG, which is among their 14 Top 40 hits here.

The Name of the Game is in a league of its own, it truly is. In many ways, it's quintessential ABBA and I love the fact Agnetha and Frida had individual parts to sing in it. I wish they'd done that more often.
I can imagine Move On and Eagle doing very well. Eagle has that incredible twin-toned wondrousness.

I think there were reasons we don’t know about that led to Eagle/Thank You For The Music not being released in the UK or US. It makes no sense whatsoever. Why wouldn’t they both follow up such a huge hit as Take A Chance On Me? I surmise that Polar allowed it in some countries but vetoed it in two of the biggest. Why I don’t know, but I do think certain things happened for a reason.

I think it's pretty astounding that Atlantic Records and Polar collaborated on a big promotional push in early 1978 and then did nothing to capitalise on it. "Take A Chance On Me" did huge business and ABBA flew to the US to make personal appearances. They flew home and then.... nothing happened. No follow up single from The Album, and then "Summer Night City" was left on ice. Nothing else was released until 1979. What an utter waste of time, effort and resources.
I always loved "Move On" but it sounds very European to me. I always thought that both "Eagle" and "One Man, One Woman" would have been great follow-up singles. Both are guitar driven and have that American influence in their sound.

The covid-19 is a discrace to China... They created it by blending 3 man-made virus's into one.

Heh Zeebee, How about sending an email to SiriusXM an ask them to create an ABBA channel. I'm new to the Forum, and learning my way through this web sight. The more ABBA fans that contact XM the better chance something could break for us.

Eagle was released in the US but then immediately withdrawn. I have no idea why.
It does seem stupid not to follow up TACOM with a single in either the US or UK.
