As part of their Box Sets based on individual Year's, 'Now!' are releasing
the 1974 Year Book.
It is 4 CD's with 82 Tracks in Total.
Amazingly, they have
not included 'Waterloo'. (Or 'Ring Ring', in fact).
superdeluxeedition.com/news/now-yearbook-1974/ABBA are usually included on these Year Book 'Now' Compilations.
We will see if ABBA are included in the 1974 Year Book 'Extra' in a
few Months time..
Some are wondering if the omission of ABBA is something to do
with what will/may happen later in 2024, for their 50th ESC Win.
Gigliola Cinquetti is included with 'Go (Before You Break My Heart)',
the English version of 'Si', which was 2nd for Italy, in the 1974 ESC.
Also included it Mouth and MacNeal's 'I See A Star', which was 3rd
in the 1974 ESC.
One ABBA Song
is included. It is Sweet Dream's 'Honey Honey',
which is Track 6 on CD 4. (In my view, the only ABBA Cover that
is a good as ABBA's Original).
At least one of the People, who Compile these 'Now' Year Book's, is
a Queen Fan, as Queen nearly always have Track 1 on CD 1, of each
Release. In this case, it is 'Killer Queen'. (Track 1 if they had a UK Hit
that Year, of course!).
No Tracks by the Glitter Band, even though Gary Glitter is not on any
of their Singles. They backed him, on his Singles. He is Banned from
being on any UK Compilations, due to his Crimes. But, that should
not mean that the Glitter Band can't be included. A great pity, as 1974
saw them reach No.4 with the excellent Glam Rock styled 'Angel Face'.
Plus their great 1975 Singles: 'Goodbye My Love' and 'The Tears I Cried'.
