Doctor Who was my favourite show from when I was a kid. My first Doctor was Jon Pertwee from the early 70's. I would say my favourite would be Tom Baker, particularly his first 3 years when Philip Hinchcliffe was the producer.
I did stop watching in 1979 after watching Creature from the Pit and didn't start again until Keeper of Traken and then I haven't missed an episode since.
I do like Capaldi I was really happy to see an older Doctor again although I believe a lot of new who fans aren't very happy though.

I used to watch Dr Who when I was very young - I think it was Tom Baker who was playing the part then. Can't really say I've followed it since then. I liked Tom Baker - he was 'quirky' I find the others boring in comparison - but then as I say, I haven't really followed it since the early days.
I'll never forget the Daleks - exterminate, exterminate !! LOL

Is anyone going to buy The Power of The Daleks on DVD? I've pre-ordered the DVD from Amazon. It is going to be available to download on the BBC Store a few weeks earlier though. The download will be available on the 5th November and the DVD on the 21st. I'm going for the DVD as I can then put it with the rest of my collection of Classic Doctor Who DVD's, in story order naturally.

I haven't ordered it yet as the postage charges on Amazon put me off (if it's under £20 which this is). I'll probably get it from HMV when it's released. I have all the classic series on DVD but I still have about ten to watch, had a break from it over the summer.

The Five Doctors was my first. It was the first one released. Got it at the end of 2000 and didn't complete the collection until last year (though the most recent one was only released in 2015).

Is anyone going to buy The Power of The Daleks on DVD? I'd prefer to buy it in a more functionally useful form, such as an effective over-the-counter analgesic, or a scouring powder ('The Powder Of The Daleks').

Have you been to the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff? It's so nice to have ABBA fans who also love Doctor Who aswell

I have yes. And also the rubbish one in Blackpool. There was a Doctor Who convention in Derby the other week but I didn't go, even though there were some supposedly big names attending. Tickets were a bit expensive for my liking, and I don't really like fan events of any genre (you wouldn't catch me anywhere near an ABBA one!)

Here's a few questions
Who's your favourite doctor? Tom Baker/Patrick Troughton Who's your favourite companion? As always, Sarah Jane Smith What's your favourite episode? The Enemy Of The World What's your favourite season? Season 14 Which missing episode do you want to be found? The Dalek's Master Plan

Favourite Doctor - I do actually like most of them, but possibly Jon Pertwee because I like the UNIT stories. Tom Baker very close, and David Tennant of the modern ones.
Favourite companion - I do like Sarah Jane (or just Sarah as Tom's Doctor called her) because she came back so many times, but also Jo Grant had a long tenure. Ben and Polly, Jamie, Leela. Quite a few I like.
Favourite story - City of Death
Favourite season - I've viewed stories in random order so it's difficult to pick one. Possibly one of the UNIT ones.
Missing story most wanted: either The Daleks' Master Plan or Evil of the Daleks. Even though it's being animated, The Power of the Daleks because it's the Second Doctor's first story.

Yes, I've got that as well, I bought it at the time of release in 2007 but only finished watching it last year. The version that's available now has the regular packaging.

There is a character named Leela on Doctor Who? I wonder if that inspired the name of the character Leela in the animated TV series Futurama.
Doctor Who is on public television here in the USA, but I've seen it only once, back in the early '80s. I was at my now-late best friend's house and he was watching it.

Has anyone met people from Dr Who?
I met Matt Smith and FIT Karen Gillian but I couldn't understand her accent much, Nicholas Briggs outside the building where they filmed The Big Bang in Swansea or Llanelli. I saw Alex Kingston aswell but she didn't do any autographs. At the Dr Who Convention in Cardiff in 2012, I met Nicholas Briggs again and Winston Churchill. Those are fond memories

Only a casual watcher of Dr Who, and haven't watched it for years (I'm a big fan of Peter Capaldi's work in The Thick Of It, but that still hasn't yet led me to check out what sort of a Doctor he makes), but I'll have a go:
Who's your favourite doctor? Jon Pertwee/Tom Baker Who's your favourite companion? Ian Chesterton (Roy Castle) What's your favourite episode? Robots Of Death or Monster Of Peladon What's your favourite season? Chris Eccleston's first season, because of the quantum shift it represented. Eccleston wasn't really right for Dr Who, but he brought an intriguingly different sensibility to the role, nevertheless. Which missing episode do you want to be found? Not at all clued up on missing episodes; I'd much rather missing episodes of Not Only But Also or Play Away were unearthed over lost episodes of Dr Who!
