Britain's fave boogie: Abba’s Dancing Queen wins the floorfiller prize

ABBA hit Dancing Queen has been voted the nation’s favourite “floorfiller” – the song guaranteed to get people dancing.


The disco anthem romped to the title ahead of Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean, with Twist and Shout by The Beatles completing the top three.

However, the song most likely to empty the dance floor is Agadoo by Black Lace.

The research was carried out by specialist insurer Musicguard.

More recent favourites included Get Lucky by Daft Punk, Beyonce’s Crazy In Love and I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas.

Among the regional variations, Billie Jean was a firm favourite in London and Northern Ireland and Twist and Shout was the top pop pick in East Anglia, the North-east and Yorkshire.
