Hi everyone, I'm Steve and live in England UK. I'm just about old enough to remember ABBA from when they won Eurovision with Waterloo. As a youngster, I loved all those famous old songs when they ruled the charts through the 70s. And while I listen to rock music most of the time, I still love all those old songs. They are timeless classics that will live forever.
Long time ABBAChat reader (especially since the new songs and avatar project were announced) but decided to finally sign up today.
As some of you may work out from my name, I'm an Irish ABBA fan. While I didn't live through ABBA's active years, I was luckily old enough to become aware of ABBA's music in 2004 and have been an avid fan since.
My favourite albums would have to be Voulez Vous, Arrival and Super Trouper, but I love all of them in truth. I think I've overcompensated for missing out on ABBA's heyday, by amassing a rather large collection of CDs, DVDs, vinyl records and more in the last 16 years.
Looking forward to discussing all sorts of topics over the coming months, which should be exciting in the world of ABBA fans!
Hello everyone. I'm Clive and have been a British ABBA fan since 1974, hence my username GamleMan (Old Man), although I'm not really really old The ABBAChat forum is somewhere I visit when I want to find out what fans are saying about ABBA news, such as new songs and releases. From now on, I hope to contribute to the discussions myself.
Greetings! My earliest memories of ABBA's songs go back to 1976, S.O.S. was played on the AM station in town and I can slightly recall a K-TEL commercial with S.O.S. being played during the spot as well. What really got the ball rolling was my parents gave me ARRIVAL as a Valentine's Day gift in '77. "Dancing Queen" was climbing up the charts and The Movie Channel kept airing Studio 2 in Poland.
I am extremely looking forward to hearing the group's completed new work, even if it's just two, three, or say five songs. Rock on!
I am Charly from Switzerland. I was born 1963 and ABBA fan since Brighton 1974. I got my first ABBA single in 1975, it was S.O.S. So really fanatic I have been when they broadcasted the TV show "Musikladen Extra" and afterwards ABBA released the "Very Best Of" Double Album.
Looking forward to discussing all sorts of topics ....
